    空海は室戸岬で虚空蔵求聞持法を修し
    明けの明星が口に飛び込む体験をする

    真言密教を日本に伝えた弘法大師　空海
    唐の長安　青龍寺の恵果和尚より
    金剛界・胎蔵界の灌頂を受ける
    大日如来を意味する
    「遍照金剛」の灌頂名を与えられる

    帰国後　真言宗を立教開宗、
    四国八十八カ所、高野山を開く

    嵯峨天皇から京都の東寺を与えられ
    教王護国寺とし造営
    大僧都に任じられる。

    丑(うし)・寅(とら)年生まれの守護仏
