    ［Michael Young (マイケル・ヤング)］
    1966年英国、サンダーランド生まれ。92年Kingston Universityインダストリアルデザイン学科を卒業。
    94年にCrafts Councilの助成金をうけて、彼の最初のコレクションであるスチールワイヤーを編み上げた家具とカバーで包み込む家具を発表。95～97年にかけてE&Yおよび中牟田洋一と共に様々な作品とプロジェクトを手掛ける。
    99～2000年、アイスランドにM.Y.Studioを、また妻のKatrin Petursdottirと共にジュエリーを扱うSMAK Icelandを相次いで設立。
    ロンドンのDesign Museum、パリのMus Biennial for Design in Kortrijkに招かれ、コカ・コーラのボトルをデザイン。
    最近はMandarina Duckのためにストアコンセプトや商品デザインを手掛けている。また、台湾で新たなデザイン・パートナーシップを設立。
