    小鹿田焼刷毛目 6寸平皿 になります。


    普段使いに最適な素朴でいておしゃれな6寸皿になります。
    使用頻度の高いサイズです。

    昔ながらの巨大な登り窯で焼きますので置く場所で色むら、歪み、降りものも多く非常に歩留まりが悪いのです。

    その作品は2つと同じものが御座いません。

    私はそれを素朴な味わいと考えております。気になる方はご遠慮ください。


    重要無形文化財「小鹿田焼」の里ですべてが手仕事で作られる日本最後の焼き物の里です。

    日田市皿山の山あいに10軒（現在は9軒）窯元があり国指定重要無形文化財の「小鹿田焼（おんたやき）」を伝える里です。

    民芸運動を提唱した柳宗悦が1931年（昭和6年）にこの地を訪れ、「日田の皿山」と題して評価する内容の一文を発表し、さらに日本の陶芸界に大きく名を残したイギリスの陶芸家、バーナード・リーチも陶芸研究のため、1954年（昭和29年）、1964年（昭和39年）に滞在して作陶を行ったことにより、小石原焼と共に小鹿田焼は日本全国や海外にまで広く知られるようになりま した。

    村の中心部に清流が流れその川沿いに肩を並べるように窯元が立ち並び、川の流れを利用した水車小屋があり、唐臼と呼ばれる杵で近くの山で採取した赤土を砕きます。
    その土を川の水で水簸して陶土を作り、それを蹴轆轤で成型、大壺、小壺、鉢、土瓶、急須、茶碗、徳利、湯呑、皿、擂鉢、など生活雑器全般を作り続けています。

    その器に飛びカンナ、刷毛目、櫛描、指描、の意匠を施し、柿釉、飴釉、黄釉、緑釉なども釉薬をかけ近隣の山で伐採した日田杉、皮や端材なども含め朝鮮系の連坊登り窯で焼成します。
    その際素焼きはせず鞘も棚も使わず伝えられた当時の技法を忠実に守り続けています。
