    時代を感じる姥口筒釜「寛文時代 京都大西家2代清右衛門（浄清）作・奥平佐兵衛（奥平了保・浄雪の弟）極め」（極め箱）を出品します。
    （この釜は和銑です。
    京都大西家2代「浄清」が寛文時代（1661～1673）に作った釜だと10代大西清右衛門 浄雪の弟（奥平了保）が極めています。　　　　
    奥平佐兵衛了保は近世釜師中の名工で表千家　[八代]件翁宗左　啄斎の取り立てにより奥平氏を再興した人物です。京都大西家と奥平家の狭間にいた「兄の浄雪」と「弟の了保」は江戸時代後期～幕末の釜の文化を支えた人物でした。
    釜の内側に少し赤錆が有りますが問題なくご使用頂けます。水漏れは御座いません。尚、ご使用の頻度にもよりますがだんだんと赤錆は落ちていきますのでご安心下さい。）
    直径20.2ｃｍ、高さ20.1ｃｍ（胴のみ）、高さ21.5ｃｍ（蓋含む）、口径11.8ｃｍです。

    鉄には和銑（わずく）と洋銑（ようずく）の二種類があります。

    和銑は日本古来の砂鉄を炭で精錬し、日本刀や釜、工芸品に使われてきた地金です。 ＜砂鉄地金＞
    材料の入手が難しく熟練の経験と技術を要し生産性が低いのが問題です。

    洋銑は鉄鉱石を石炭等で溶かし大量生産出来る鉄です。
    ＜鉄鉱石地金＞
    高い生産性に加え切削（せっさく）・塑性（そせい）のしやすさから多様されています。 しかし洋銑で造られた物は錆び易く弱い。
    表面加工と錆び止めでなんとか使用には耐えますが和銑の強さには勝てません。
