    住職から陶芸家へと異色の道を歩む、松井康成。古来・唐代に始まる伝統技法「練上手」の人間国宝に認定されています。技巧と偶然の美をお愉しみ頂ける逸品です。
    ●サイズ：高さ 約23.3cm x巾約15.2cm
    　　　　　※最大幅。若干大きさに誤差はありますので、ご了承下さい。
    ●状態：前所有者が花器として使用していたようで，傷や汚れがあります。小さな欠けもみられます。（写真参照ください。）

    【作者について】
    松井康成（1927年〜2003年）略歴
    松井康成は1927年、長野県北佐久郡本牧村に生まれました。父である宮城興四郎の転職に伴い幼少期は川崎市で過ごしましたが、戦時中には戦火を逃れる為父の生地である茨城県笠間町に家族で疎開移住しました。終戦後はアルバイトで笠間の月崇寺下にある奥田製陶所へ通い作陶技術を学びます。翌年の1947年に明治大学専門部文科文芸科に入学、この頃から東京国立博物館に通い、中国・朝鮮・日本の陶磁を研究しました。
    1952年に同校卒業と同時に、月崇寺住職松井英功の長女秀子と結婚、婿入りし松井姓となりました。翌年住職が病に伏したため、小学校教諭を辞めて1955年に月崇寺二十四世住職となりました。
    月崇寺には江戸時代に築かれた窯がありました。松井はこの窯を復興し、日本や中国の古陶磁を模した作品や練上げ技法を研究・制作しました。それからは象嵌・掻き落とし・下絵・上絵・布目・練上げ・釉薬ものなど、様々な伝統技法を試みましたが、1968年に師事した東京芸大教授の田村耕一に一つの技法に絞って探究することを薦められ、40代からは練上一筋に研究を重ねました。
    練上は2種類以上の色土を組み合わせて作る為、土の収縮率の違いから亀裂が生じやすく成形が難しい。そのため松井が練上げの研究を始めた1960年代には手掛ける者もわずかでした。松井は試行錯誤の末、この亀裂が入るのを逆手にとって複雑な文様を作り、そこからさまざまな技法が生まれ、全く新しい陶磁の世界が展開されるようになりました。
    晩年には「玻璃光」という技法による硬質な光沢に包まれた作品を発表し、国内はもちろん世界各国の展覧会に展示されるようになり、1993年には重要文化財「練上手」の技術保持者として初めて認定されました。
    また、松井の手掛ける作品に丸い形の作品が多いのは、「宇宙が目指している雄一のかたち」と語ったように、浄土宗月崇寺の住職として歩み続けた一つの理想が結実した世界でもあります。
