    ＜日本語解説＞
    「ワールド・ウェイトをお買い上げいただきありがとうございます。
    この美しいペーパーウェイトはガラス職人と画家の二人のチームワークによって作られます。
    その製法について簡単に説明いたします。
    ガラス職人がまず長いステンレス棒の先にオパールグラスの核を付けます。
    その一方で画家が、特別に調合されたガラス細粉を使って世界地図を描きます。
    そしてガラスの核に海の部分となるガラスを付けて、
    それが熱い間に先に描かれた絵の上を転がしてゆきます。
    こうして海の上に地表を乗せ、地球がねじれたりこわれたりしないよう
    慎重に球状に型作ってゆきます。
    次にこの球を大気層となるオパールグラスに入れます。
    この時、底に近い部分の海の表面にしわが入り、細い線として現れることがあります。
    これは各層が接着されるときに起こるもので、ひびや傷ではありません。
    私達の工房ではこれをランドバーグ断層と呼んでいます。
    最後に弱火にした発炎灯でオパールグラスの表面を再び温め気象模様を作り出します。
    ワールド・ウェイト・エクストラには地表と空の間にクリスタル層がもう一層あります。
    ワールド・ウェイトはガラス化学の大成果です。美しく神秘に満ちた惑星の誕生。
    このワールド・ウェイトが、人の手で作られたものではなく、
    まるで生まれ出たかのように見えれば幸甚です。」
     
    英語の説明書にサインとシリアルナンバーがあります。
    地球の底面にサインとシリアルナンバー、おそらく制作年の1991と刻まれています。
    底面と箱の側面に「415P」と書かれたシールが貼られています。

    長年ガラスケースの中に飾っていましたが、目立った傷みはありません。
    箱に汚れがあります。
