    その視線を跳ね返す目玉をお守りにしているのです。
     
    また、見るものすべてを石に変えてしまうという、
    メデューサ信仰の名残とも言われています。
    紀元前から伝わる魔除けのお守りです。
    割れた時は災いから身を守ってくれたということです。
