    1941年に大阪と東京の高島屋で開催された展覧会は、「選擇・傳統・創造」というタイトルでした。この展覧会は、シャルロット・ペリアンの日本での仕事を紹介するために刊行された書物と合わせて行われました。

    シャルロット・ペリアンは20世紀を代表する女性デザイナーであり、ペリアンの作品は多くの人々に影響を与えています。

    ペリアンは日本での展覧会を通じて、伝統的な日本の意匠や素材と同時代の感覚を結びつける試みをしました。

    展覧会「選擇・傳統・創造」では、ペリアンが日本で企画した2つの展示も再現されています。

    1つは「ペリアン女史 日本創作品展覧会 2601年住宅内部装備への一示唆 選擇 傳統 創造」（1941年）であり、もう1つは「芸術の綜合への提案―コルビュジエ、レジェ、ペリアン3人展」（1955年）です。
