    ＜ブレッドフォーク Bread Forks＞

    A short-lived affectation of the Victorian English table was the three-tine bread fork.
    Its sole purpose was removing bread and rolls from service plate to individual bread and butter plate 
    without touching it with one’s fingers.
    No two handles were alike. Some were fat, some skinny, some elaborate, some plain as bread.
    Their only common ground was the three pointed silver tines.
    There remains a wide  variety of these peculiar forks in antique shops and markets today, ours for the buying.  
    Most have seen little use and are in very good condition.  
    Sturdy enough for serving hot and cold meats, the intriguing shape is a welcome addition to any table.
    Typical three-tined bread forks, one with an ivory handle and silver cuffs and tines; the other boasts 
    a natural-born handle with a silver cuff and unusually shaped tines.

    太いもの、細いもの、精巧なもの、パンのように素朴なもの。
    唯一共通しているのは、銀色の3本の先が尖っていることです。
