    ■２０世紀初頭、絵本黄金時代を代表するアメリカ出身の女流絵師、ジェシー・ウィルコックス・スミス（１８６３～１９３５）の代表作、ヨハンナ・スピリの「ＨＥＩＤＩ」です。ＤＡＶＩＤ ＭＣＫＡＹ社刊、１９２２年初版本です。
    ●スミスは児童本が多く、豪華本ではないのでなかなか状態のいいものは残っていない、貴重な絵師でした。
    ●彼女の魅力である味わい深い少女たちのカラーイラストは９点、２色カラーイラストは２３点になります。
    ●本のサイズはタテ２４５ｍｍ×ヨコ１８２ｍｍ、厚さ４９ｍｍ。ハードカバー平とじ３８０ページ、天金、本文に３枚押し花、一部年代に伴うシミはありますが、イラスト部分には折れや破れはなく、保存状態は良好です。傷みはありますが、カバーも付いています。
